摘要:
作为经典的“9·11”小说，唐·德里罗的《坠落的人》以反叙事的方式，讲述了“9·11”这一重大历史事件给普通美国人带来的精神创伤。虽然学界对幸存者基思与另一位幸存者弗洛伦斯的短暂婚外情关注并不多，但对《坠落的人》的拉康式解读发现，这一片段的存在至关重要。它揭露了基思白人男性身份的困惑与危机，即他的男性气质看似在场，实则缺场。这是源于男性气质是他追逐的拉康式的欲望客体。德里罗借由基思的精神层面的坠落与双子塔物理层面的倒塌，表明美国社会在“9·11”当天完成了阉割仪式，是一个深度阉割的社会。
